"Brock wants us to play where for how much?!" - Captain Tractor

About Brock

The Beginning

Brock Skywalker himself

Brock was born in Edmonton Alberta, August 3, 1971 (in case you want to buy him a b' day prezzie). It was a sunny day, high of 25°c and only a 10% chance of showers. He had a happy childhood of broken bones, scraped knees and unfinished homework. His folks dressed him in the finest homemade clothes and taught him: the difference between right and wrong, where the juice jug goes when you are finished and, most importantly, how to skate.

The Middle

Brock finished high school and immediately moved to Winterpeg Manitscolda (a small town just east of Regina). There he learned to leap and spin and pick up girls... literally! He soon realized that was not the place for him so he returned to Edmonton to try his hand at college. 2 years passed and he left Grant MacEwan College with a degree in acting and immediately went back to picking up girls and leaping and spinning. This took him all over western Canada and as far away as Lithuania and Russia. When standing in Minsk's ever popular bread lines grew tiresome he came home and began some serious work at the Chateau Louis liquor store. Then after a period of cross-dressing Shakespeare, being a touring dolphin and leaping so high he broke bones and dislocated hips he met a bunch of yahoos in a beer tent at the Edmonton Fringe Festival and Captain Tractor was born.

Captain Tractor

In a nut shell: Started in September 1993. 15 cross country tours, 2 trips around New Zealand, 3 European countries conquered, 8 skirmishes below the 49, 11 cds, 7 videos and all those freakin' years of celtic, folk, pop, punk, rock (if you must). It was good life.

Back to school

Captain Tractor was starting to get... well... less fun... and living in a van with 5 smelly guys was taking it's toll on all of them. They decided to take some time off so Brock went back to working at the Chateau Louis Liquor Store. That also took it's toll on him so he grabbed his 30 year old binders and pens and went back to school and studied to be a computer nerd. His first teacher was none other than Paul Bellows his future friend and band mate. After one year of school (ok... 8 months), Paul (with Cory Papirny and Dave Bellous, the other two thirds of Yellow Pencil) helped Brock find a job with Redengine Inc and next thing you know...

The Government

After gaining the trust of the good folks over at Redengine, Brock went to work with Alberta Justice and Alberta Solicitor General. There he had his own desk, computer and his own phone! He was one of three people who looked after the 6 million page JAG/SolGPS websites. But after nearly 5 years of being a diligent Government worker Brock was ready to move on (or back, depending on how you look at it) to...

Yellow Pencil

Brock shares a work station with his old friend Chris Smith and works very near Dave Bellous, Paul Bellows and Scott Koladich. He has a pc with two monitors and a MacBook Pro. He attends meeting, gives opinions, types like the wind and hopes to someday be on the Contact Page... Oh, yay - he is!

The other stuff

Brock likes building websites, playing hockey, taking photos BUT most of all he loves creating/recording music and sound. He has also done weddings (the marrying part), print design (the pretty part) and organizing/booking shows/festivals. If there is anything else you would like him to do Brock will figure out how!
