So, we (the somewhat lamentably named “Kings”) made it through the season with only three losses, a GFA of 5.14 and a GAA of 3.71. I managed to score one goal and had about 6 or 7 assists. But, last night we lost the final game of the playoffs. Sigh…
Second place is pretty great, don’t get me wrong. I am tickled pink. After a 20 year hiatus from hockey I am just happy to be playing again… but somehow there is still a part of me that is disappointed to not have had that photo on the ice after the game, smiling like mad, and hoisting a crappy looking trophy aloft.
In any case, I now have a couple months off hockey before the GPHL season starts. The Yellow Pencil team is still looking for a couple female players and a goalie, so if you know anyone interested PLEASE contact me. It is going to be a hoot and a half. I promise!
Now it is back to tennis and training for the RVM for me. Woohoo!
