Well… It was one hell of a game!

I had high hopes for my Oilers. Possibly unwarranted high hopes… but I still had them… sigh… Although, I was thinking back to the game I took E to on her birthday (Dec 26) and how absolutely horribly the Oilers played, and lost, against the Wild. It was a horrible, sloppy, boring game. They looked like the worst team in the world. They couldn’t even seem to pass! So, witnessing that same (nearly same) team get all the way to game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals was pretty damn amazing! I am going to stick with that thought.

That thought and the thought that 4 of Carolina’s players are from Alberta and 7 more are from elsewhere in Canada. There’s some misguided patriotism for you, eh?

Anyway, I gotta say:

  1. It was definitely an exciting game to watch last night…sorry the Oilers didn’t win, but they played their hearts out!

  2. Well, I am pretty bummed too, but when it all boils down to it, they made it to game 7 and really only lost by 1 point (I’m not counting the empty net). So what? The ‘Canes beat them by one measly point. Plus, the ‘Canes have friggen cheerleaders which should technically count as a point against them.
